FAI 5 a side Soccer
Well done to all the boys and girls who took part in the FAI 5 a side soccer competitions. The competition was held in March and the county finals were held in May. We were delighted to have both a boys and a girls team represented on finals day. Both teams did exceptionally well and all represented our school with pride.
Junior Infants to 6th class set off every Thursday to Nenagh Swimming pool for six weeks during April and May. They learned new strokes, dives and build on their techniques. The children had a great time and even got to visit the park on a glorious sunny day. Well done to all the children.
Tennis coaching with Anne Fitzpatrick has concluded with the senior classes. Junior class had previously completed their 6 weeks and really enjoyed it also. The children in 3rd to 6th practiced their serve, swing and backhand. They played games which improved their hand eye co-ordination which is very important for all sports.
GAA training is on every Friday with Jenny and JP where a Fundamental Motor Skills Programme is being implemented with the Infant classes and hurling skills with 1st – 6th class. These are proving to be hugely beneficial to all age groups. Well done to our U11s and to 1st and 2nd class who took part in organised Hurling Blitzes in Puckane recently and had a very enjoyable and fun day out along with the experience of representing their school. The children in the senior classes participated in the Tipperary Cumann na mBunscoil competitions in both U13 Hurling and Camogie. Well done to all the children involved. Thanks to Mr Barry, Mrs. Kennedy, Mr. Ryan, Ms. Ryan and Ms. Hogan who accompanied the pupils.
