Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are on the home straight as the school year draws to a close, however there is still a lot of work to be done and some important changes to be brought to your attention.
We are delighted to announce the Launch of our new website: It has lots of information on all school events and activities. We wish to thank Margaret and John Lehane for both the design and hosting of the website. I think you will all agree that they did a fantastic job.
School Closure & Reopening
Our school year will draw to a close on Wednesday 25th of June at 12.00am.
The Board of Management together with the staff of the school has decided to reopen the school on the 28th of August 2014. The school will open at 9.00 a.m. for all classes and close at 1.45 p.m. for Infants and 2.45 p.m. for all other classes.
For any parents planning ahead a list of our school closures for next year are at the bottom of the newsletter.
Sports Day
We are going to hold a school sports day tomorrow Wednesday the 18th of June. We would ask parents to ensure that all children have sunscreen and plenty of water as good weather is forecast. We would also request that children bring a
scarf (or old tights), and a spoon and potato. We would also request that child from 3rd class up bring hurling gear.
As part of our Sports Day we are going to have a Walk/Cycle on Wednesday event. Pupils are asked to assemble at Youghalarra Way at 8.50 on Wednesday and cycle/ walk to school from there.
Book Rental
We would like to remind parents that have not already done so, that book rental money is now due and must be paid by the end of the week.
Yesterday we sent home an insurance slip. With regard to insurance, this year you have a choice of what insurance cover you would like for your child.
There is 24-hour cover for €9 and school activities cover for €7.
You must fill up the attached application for each child. Please return the money and application form to school in an
envelope by June 20th.
